Several years ago in 2007, one of the most tragic and unexpected events happened within wrestling.
Chris Benoit was undoubtably at the top of the industry. But after he was found dead alongside his wife & child, the whole world plummeted into shock. Chris was regarded as one of the best athletes of his time- so it was hard to imagine that he could commit such a horrible act.

Lexi Alexander (director of Green Street) is about to start filming for a biopic about Benoit, and the events that caused his life to fall.
Entitled “Crossface”, the movie is based on a biography named “Ring of Hell: The Story of Chris Benoit & the Fall of the Pro Wrestling Industry.”
Very happy to hear @Lexialex will be directing a Chris Benoit biopic. A great wrestler w/an important story. They picked a solid director.

.@Lexialex directing a Chris Benoit biopic intrigues me because I know she would do justice to such a complex and tragic story.

The movie will follow the story of his Chris and his struggles within family life, as well as his wrestling career. But inevitably, one of the main scenes in the film will be about the downward spiral for Benoit after the death of his tag team partner, Eddie Guerrero.
In a recent interview, Lexi said:
“I was pretty certain I’d stay in TV rather than returning to the feature world, because the material just seems so much better in TV, especially in drama, but then ‘Crossface’ came my way. A heartbreaking, true story about the dark side of wrestling. I couldn’t say no to that.”

After details emerged regarding the death of Chris, WWE removed him from their website, and refuse to acknowledge him in broadcasts.
