“Calexit” is reportedly taking over social media after millions of people were unhappy with the election of Donald J Trump.
In what may be seen as a move similar to Brexit, loads of Californians across the country are calling for a referendum to be held in 2018. If successful, it would mean that the state would become an independent country.
Already, this so called “movement” has received backing from several large investors. Shervin Pishevar, an early investor in Uber, said that he would help fund the campaign to make the referendum successful.
“It’s the most patriotic thing I can do,” he told CNBC. “The country is at serious crossroads. … Calling it New California.”
America is known for having one of the best Democracy’s on earth. So it may come as a surprise that there is a massive uproar when a new President gets elected.
After checking my personal social media feed, a lot of mates are saying worse things about Trump than he said about anyone during his campaign. How ironic.
