Conor McGregor Tries to Trademark ‘The Notorious’!

Don’t get me wrong, I love McGregor.

But trying to trademark ‘The Notorious’ is like me trying to trademark ‘Smithy’. Yes, quite a lot of people do call me it (I know, I’m both exotic and unique), but it’s been used before, and used well.

Conor McGregor, in order to secure his brand, has applied for three trademarks just days before the UFC was sold for $4.2 billion by WME-IMG: ‘Conor McGregor’, ‘The Mac Life’ and ‘The Notorious’.

Though, as mentioned, someone may have used the nickname ‘The Notorious’ before… Can’t think of who though, nobody B.I.G. That’s for sure!

It’s thought that because of this reason, Conor’s application to trademark the nickname will run into problems due to it’s association with Christopher Wallace (AKA The Notorious B.I.G.) in the 1990’s

Whilst I’m kinda taking the mick…it has to be said that MacGregor did recognise The Notorious B.I.G. In the run up to UFC 205 last year:

Either way, the man’s an absolute commercial machine. Expect every sort of ‘MacGregor’ good in the future.

I’m still waiting for a shirt with this on:
