A story has surfaced just a few minutes ago regarding the England manager- Sam Allardyce. According to The Telegraph, he has been taking money in exchange for advice on how to “get around” the FA rules on player transfers.
Allardyce was filmed creating a £400k deal whilst on a trip to Singapore & Hong Kong. But in a twist of events, the businessmen were not who they claimed to be. Instead, they were undercover reporters who released the footage of Sam explaining how to circumvent rules that prevent 3rd parties from “owning” players.
The reporters are understood to have been in the middle of an investigation regarding corruption within British football. During the meetings, Allardyce:
- Suggested that players who were not being played for their club should not be picked for England;
- Criticised his predecessor Roy Hodgson, dubbing him “Woy” and saying that he “hasn’t got the personality” for public speaking;
- Described the FA decision to redevelop Wembley as “stupid”.
- Said England’s players were underperforming because they had a “psychological barrier” and “can’t cope”.
This shocking exposure could land Allardyce in massive trouble. Currently earning a salary of £3m a year, I am sure that people will be questioning his legitimacy to remain as England manager.
