This is absolutely ridiculous. But to be honest, I see the logic in going to another country just to meet friends. After all, it costs me almost £90 just to get a return train ticket to London Waterloo from Southampton. Yet I can have a week in Geneva and only pay £74 in airplane tickets. It’s madness!
Lucy, from Newcastle, decided that she wanted to meet a friend from Birmingham. Originally planning to take the train, she was astonished when she saw the cost of a return journey was £105!
Of course, the reasoning behind the high prices was simple: Trains run on rare items such as Unicorn tears and guys wearing Adidas tracksuits who aren’t f*ckboys. You get what I mean.
Instead, the girls decided that a trip to Malaga was cheaper, and therefore booked flights for under £20. After contributing a tenner each towards some cheap accommodation. With food adding to the bill, they both managed a few nights stay in Spain for under £50 each. That’s incredible!
