When I was younger I wanted to be a footballer…or an astronaut (obviously). Don’t get me wrong, neither was ever going to happen, but at least they seemed like viable career paths.
Nobody ever said, “why would you want to do that for? they’re ridiculous jobs!”
This man, however, is literally employed to run around in a Chimp suit until he is captured, and shot with a tranquilliser dart to simulate a zoo escape situation. I know what you’re thinking, scratch the Chocolate tasting job…where do I sign up for this?!
The video in question shows the event unfolding at the Tama Zoological Park in Hino, Tokyo:
As you can see, it’s not even a small operation! The drill is said to mimic what could likely happen given an earthquake disrupting security within the zoo.
Over 100 people take part, including both police and firefighters, who all hunt down the guy dressed in the Chimp outfit.
What I love is how seriously he takes it! You can see him jumping around, itching himself and carrying around a branch. Hey, if you’re going to do something, do it properly.
Well, until you’re taken down with a seriously powerful tranquilliser dart, that is!
