A Muslim journalist wearing a hijab has been published in the Playboy magazine. Normally favouring nude models, this is a first for Playboy as it sparks a change in the way that they are embracing different religions.
Noor Tagouri, 22, appears in the October edition. From West Virginia, she dreams of one day being the first female news anchor wearing a hijab on American TV. I must admit, I have a lot of respect for this woman.
I have such great respect and pride for my Libyan sister @NTagouri being published in Playboy as a MODEST educated successful woman. LEGEND.

@NTagouri 's feature in playboy focuses on her goals, her career and her passion. she's not sexualized. that is badass. that is history.

Back in 2012, Noor posted a photo of herself at an ABC News desk with a caption of “the first hijab wearing news anchor on American television.”
The post went viral- accompanied by #LetNoorShine. This inspirational act then became a national symbol for people to embrace who they are and pursue their dreams.
‘”As a badass activist with a passion for demanding change and asking the right questions, accompanied by beauty-ad-campaign looks, Tagouri forces us to ask ourselves why we have such a hard time wrapping our minds around a young woman who consciously covers her head and won’t take no for an answer,” Playboy wrote in the article.
No matter who you are, or where you come from, please try and pursue your dreams. Never let anyone get you down and make you think that you won’t achieve something.
