My man, Charles Darwin, once said: “all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual’s ability to compete, survive, and reproduce”.
‘Increase the individual’s ability to compete, SURVIVE, and reproduce’.
Let that sink in. Just as the crocodile’s teeth sunk in to a French Tourist trying to get a selfie with it.
I assume it would have looked something like this:
Look, I know we all want the perfect profile picture…Hey, I spend 20 minutes before each photo trying to find the ‘handsome light’ to make me look proper cool and good looking to all my mates (hoping that they’ve forgotten what I truly look like despite having seen me in person for the last 10 years). But sometimes it’s just not worth it.
This was the case with a 41 year old French tourist who was bitten by Mr Croc as she squatted down to pose for a selfie with the reptile. What did you think was going to happen?! SACRE BLEU!
The woman was visiting the popular National Park, Khan Yao, in Thailand when she thought that she should disregard the fact that, you know, crocodiles have many teeth and strong jaws.
Whilst the picture was being taken – the husband already contemplating whether to use the ‘Clarendon’ or ‘Valencia’ filter – the croc pounced, sinking it’s teeth into the woman’s thigh. Ouch.
Luckily, she was taken to hospital almost immediately and her injuries are not life threatening!
What I love most about this though, is that afterwards, a picture of her husband pointing at the Crocodile who had bitten his missus was taken…
He looks fairly happy, doesn’t he. Lol. I can imagine the conversation beforehand: “Darling, trust me, it’ll be a great picture…crocodiles aren’t even dangerous, it’s just something the media tells you to scare you”.
