SKEPTA – one of the UK’s top Grime MC’s has teamed up with ‘Levi’s Music Project’ in a bid to help the youth of London step closer to their dream.
It is said that Levi’s is launching a new long-term global community-based music program called the Levi’s Music Project. The international brand have teamed up with the main man Skepta, in a big attempt to give back to communities.
But how will they give back to communities? In the way that good old Skepta knows how – through music … obvs!!
It is rumored that Levi’s will provide students with access to music education and equip them with state of the art technology to help them learn about the industry. Yes Levi’s! Big up yourselves!!
Skepta, being the absolute legend he is, is also said to be setting up his very own music space in his home town of Tottenham, North London. At this specially designed venue, youths from the community will not only learn about modern day music, but will also be taught the production side of the industry.
This includes lighting design, sound production and recording, but on a grander scale, Skepta says he will teach the youths how to build a profile as an artist on social media!
Skepta, who recently headlined an exclusive performance at the V&A museum with some of the youths from the area says:
”I want to show the young generation that success is not something you search for externally, it is from within. Help people to understand that all your thoughts and ideas can become reality with a bit of hard work and dedication.”
The footage finishes with a very confident line –
“12 BUDDING MUSICIANS HAVE LEARNT WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AN INDEPENDENT ARTIST IN THE MODERN DIGITAL AGE. YOU’LL BE HEARING FROM THEM IN THE FUTURE”
Let’s hope so Skeps!!
