Do you remember this guy? The meme that you always used to post after something cool happened at the age of 12? Well this is “success kid” after a few years of growing up. And he’s done something rather spectacular.
@DailyMail Sounds like Sammy has a good head on his shoulders. Best wishes to him and his family.

Now aged 10 years old, Sammy Griner has used the fame from his meme to help save his dad’s life. Around the period of 2006, his Father unfortunately suffered total kidney failure, and was left on dialysis for a long period of time.
During 2012, his dad, Justin, was told that he needed a kidney transplant. After setting up a GoFundMe page to finance the surgery, it has emerged that Sammy’s meme fame allowed the page to crowd fund $100,000 in a matter of days. Last year, I am pleased to say that the operation was a success.
Although Sammy is happy that his fame allowed his dad to have the transplant, he recently turned down a TV appearance. In an interview, he said:
“I don’t want to be shown on TV unless it’s like just the picture. I’m really happy that I’m famous because I’m glad that people like it. I’m glad it makes people happy when they’re sad. I’m also really happy that I still have a dad.”
What a great kid.
