Weatherman Arrested After Starting Forest Fire To Boost His Views…

This is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve written about this year.

An aspiring weatherman has reportedly been charged with arson after starting a forest fire in order to get a few Facebook views. Entitled “Weather Outlook”, his Facebook stream achieved over 3,000 views at the time of his arrest.

Johnny Mullins (from Kentucky USA) posted multiple updates of the fire on social media whilst it destroyed parts of his local area. He said:

“A forest fire warning is out for all of the eastern Kentucky Mountains. Burning hot spots is causing numerous of fires to continue to spread across the mountains.”

“I do not think these are being set intentionally. We have a very dry air mass that continues to stay in place and we are under dangerous drought conditions. We do not have any rain chances in the forecast, well not enough to help the fire threat.”

After his arrest, Mullins said that he was a fairly decent guy, and did not realise the severity of his actions at the time.

I get thousands of views in a few minutes, but I still don’t go destroying forests for a bit of attention. Geez.
